Members of the Cincinatti Anti-Imperialist League
Established as a regional League to the American Anti-Imperialist League
Cincinnati's League began as the Cincinnati Liberty League, but was renamed the Cincinnati Anti-Imperialst League when it was established as a regional League to the national movement. The leadership of the League included Herbert S. Bigelow, a preacher, influential Democrat, and José Rizal biographer who delivered the opening prayers at the 1900 Democratic Convention. President of the League was Rufus Smith a confident of Philippine Governor-General William Taft. Judson Harmon was Cleveland's Attorney General and Governor of Ohio.
